Strawberry Card

This is a card idea I 'borrowed' from Robyn aka The Pink Stamper. She has lots of videos and Cricut tutorials. If you haven't checked out her site, you definitely should! When I got my Expression, I sat for a few hours and watched tutorials. I learned how to use the endcaps feature on the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge through her tutorials. LOVE that feature!!!
For her card, Robyn used Stampin' Up! colors and did her strawberry in pink. I just used regular ol' Michaels or Hobby Lobby cardstock and used red. I used pop-dots to raise the strawberry, though the picture doesn't show that because of the angle. But you get the idea. ;o) The black buttons were in a package I bought in the craft department at Wal Mart for cheap ($1.77). They had other packages as well and there are 2-4 colors in each package. I'm just starting to use buttons...I like 'em!

Mother's Day Card

It's been SO long since I updated my blog that I decided to show you one of the cards I made today. This is a Mother's Day card or I guess it could be a 'just because' card for Mom since it doesn't say anything about Mother's Day...but at this point it's a Mother's Day card.

Pink card blank with the back layer being a grey "Pastel Parchment" paper from Westrim Crafts and the top layer being a light pink from who-knows-what package of cardstock! The bouquet of flowers I cut on the Cricut with SCAL, colored the flowers with Cotton Candy Stickles and used a Butterscotch-dyed Skittle for the center of each flower. The back layer is punched with a Martha Stewart doily punch and the front layer is cut out of a scallop circle on the Cricut with SCAL and cut down to fit the size I wanted. Mom is also cut on the Cricut with SCAL.
I bought a photo storage box at Hobby Lobby the other day, so I'm going to *TRY* to start making some cards to store for future use. I have this Mother's Day card and one 'just because' card in the box with all the little tabs labeled for different occasions. I hope to start to work on my Christmas cards by mid-May. Wish me luck! ;o)

Cricut Swarm Win - WOOHOO!!!

As most of you know, my group won the Cricut Swarm/Crop for February. Well, FedEx dropped our package off the other day, but I'm just now getting a chance to take photos and upload them.

The package included:

1) Cricut Rolling Backpack - not sure of the value of this???
2) 6 2-packs of 6x12 mats (12 mats total) - $59.94
3) Tear Drop font cartridge - $89.99
4) Tool Kit - $24.99
5) 8 pads of 6x12 paper - $47.92
So without calculating the price of the backpack, that's a $220+ value. Nice win!!!

Blinged up TINKERBELL

My youngest daughter turned FIVE today...not a baby any more! (boohoo) Anyway!!! About 11 last night I decided to make a Tinkerbell, because our daughter LOVES Tinkerbell. I got it all made and got the brainy idea to bling her up with Stickles. I think she turned out pretty. What do YOU think???
