Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to everyone! I hope you all had a very enjoyable day with your family. We had our "Christmas dinner" last night, followed by games with the kids and our traditional story of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. Unforunately, the book I've been reading out of for 10+ years is mysteriously MIA. We didn't let that stop us! I went online and printed out the story and read from that. I have it mostly memorized, but forget the words to a couple of parts. After that, we read the story of Rudolph and tucked the kids into bed. My sneaky husband was wrapping gifts he purchased on the sly, so he locked me out of our bedroom. That wasn't very nice, was it? ;o)

ANYWAY, I got up, bathed, let the dog out for a potty break, had my make-up done and had the video camera set up well before 8:30. We BLASTED the Savatage version of Christmas Eve in Sarejevo TWICE trying to wake the kids up. Not a peep from upstairs!!! Mike finally went upstairs and said something to them before they woke up. I was sure the surround sound would wake them up because it was LLLLOOOOOUUUUUUDDDDD enough to hear it outside and around on the side of the house - LOL!!!!! Anyway, we opened gifts, had a late breakfast and played the rest of the day. I downloaded a TON of songs for the mp3 players, so they've all been walking around singing their songs off-key for most of the day. ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!

I am SO glad we had Christmas dinner last night and re-heated today. I didn't realize how much fun that takes out of the day. It just may have to be our newest tradition. ;o)

Christmas Scrapbook Collages

I bought some 12x12 frames at Michaels on Black Friday and just couldn't figure out what to do with them. Since the kids saw Santa on Saturday, I decided to do them as Christmas layouts. We are going to start a "new" tradition where we make a collage for Christmas every year. When the new one is ready to be inserted, we 'retire' the previous year's page to the album.

Here are the ones I did:

Goody Bags

Okay, so my goody bags are finished and gifted. YAY! I am pleased with the way they turned out, other than the paper was a little too muted. This was my first stab at DIY gifts, so I will make a mental note to use brighter papers next time! :o)

The trays & snowflakes were ones I made using SCAL & the Cricut Create. To give them extra support on the bottom, I took a cardboard insert (something I saved from a pack of paper or something), cut it to size and adhered a scrap piece of the same snowflake paper over the top of the cardboard. I didn't have to glue the cardboard down, since it didn't effect the tray itself and it fit snug inside the bottom.

Busy Day

I have been a busy little bee today! I learned some things in Inkscape, thanks to some help from Dan's video tutorials. Dan has an awesome site that you should definitely check out if you haven't already!

I made a few Christmas gift boxes that I think are turning out really cute! I am going to make Divinity to put into them, so they're not quite ready for photos, but I'll post pictures when I'm done!

Okay, off to make some yummy Divinity!! :o)

Happy Holidays

Hmmm, what to say??

How about we start out by saying "Happy Holidays!" It's getting SO close to Christmas that it's almost scary! I can't believe how fast the year has flown by. WOW - just 16 days until 2009!!!

As you probably know, I did an early Christmas with my parents & my brother's family. My parents gave me the Cricut Create and SCAL, as well as other scrapbooking things, for Christmas. I've been a SCAL-ing fool. LOL I'll post some photos later. ;o)

Okay, off to bed. My forehead feels like it's going to blow off my face. That tells me that I probably have a sinus infection. Ick!

Nite!
