With Heartfelt Sympathy….

DSC05058

A super-simple sympathy card, using only a handful of supplies.

This is a pretty straight-forward card, but I’ll tell you what I did anyway.  :o)

I punched the bottom of the card with the Martha Stewart punch, then cut and embossed the Nestabilities in the size and colors desired.  I used a sweeper brush to add Memento London Fog to the edges of the white paper, added the two layers of ribbon, layered the labels and added the rhinestones.

Super Simple!

Bildmalarna Challenge – “Get In Shape”

DSC05056

Our current challenge on the Bildmalarna Design Team Blog is “Get In Shape”. What in the world does THAT mean?! It means to make a shape card…anything that isn’t a square or rectangle.

For this project, I chose to do a tag shaped project, which I cut on my Cricut.

It’s a gorgeous day in Texas, so I decided to step out on my porch and take photos. The first thing I saw was the tree branch hanging nearby and it worked perfectly…except for the breeze that only seemed to blow when I put the camera up! LOL

Here are the details of what I used:

  • Girl – Bildmalarna Little Mimosa
  • Tree – Stampin Up Lovely As A Tree
  • Tag shape – Cricut
  • Pink Paper - America Crafts “Princess”
  • Brown Paper – Making Memories “Chocolate Coach”
  • Ribbon – COD Warehouse sheer organza in 3/8”
  • Heart Button – From my stash. It’s the only one I had…I want more! LOL
  • Butterfly – Also from my stash.
  • Faux Stitching - Copic Multiliner .3 black
  • Bling (hair bow, sand under tree and polka dots on dress) – Lemon, Lilac, Sand Spica
  • Copics – 0, V12, Y11, Y13, Y15, YG93, YG95, YG97, E000, E00, E02, E07, E08, E09, E13, E15, E17, C3, G12, C1, E53, B41
  • Airbrush – I used very light colors, so it’s hard to see, but it’s there! ;o)

ANNOUNCEMENT and Bildmalarna Card

DSC04762

Welcome to my blog!  If this is your first time here, please take a look around and let me know if you have any questions or want to see  me do anything specific on an upcoming project.

FIRST for the announcement!!!  I just colored my very first Bildmalarna image at a crop on March 27th (the one in this post).  This past Friday night I got an email asking me to join the Bildmalarna Design Team.  If you’ve learned anything about me, it’s that I love cute little girl images….so of course I said yes!  ;o)

Okay, on with the card.

I was at a crop when I made it and took very minimal supplies to work with, so it’s a very simple card.

Details:

  • Image – Bildmalarna Mimosa’s Birdhouse
  • Paper – DCWV Sweet  Stack (LOVE this paper pack!)
  • Paper Punch – Martha Stewart Crown Punch
  • Ribbon – Celebrate It Sheer Creations (ribbon was white.  I colored it with my Copics)
  • Copics - E13, E15, E17, B24, B26, Y06, Y08, E00, E02, RV32, RV34, C1, C3, BV31, BV20, YR68, E25, E27, E29

House Mouse And Friends March Challenge

DSC04735

Stamping Scrapping Design Team is having a Friendly Design Team challenge going on right now!  There is some AMAZING talent in the projects the DT members from Stamping Scrapping have put together!  SERIOUSLY amazing!!!

Please stop on by Stamping Scrapping Design Team to vote for your favorite projects in THREE categories!  They are:

    • Most Creative
    • Best Card
    • Best Thinking Outside The Box

I made my project as my “inspiration” project over at House Mouse And Friends. The challenge is to “Do Anything” using a House Mouse, Happy Hoppers or Gruffies image. I’ve created an easel card with pink, lace and frills and by the tail showing in the photo above, I’m sure you can see that I used a House Mouse stamp.   I can relate to how full this mouse is!  I love strawberries too!!!  :o)

DSC04735

For this project, I used:

  • Image – Sleeping with Strawberries
  • Patterned Paper – DCWV
  • Flowers – Primas
  • Skittles
  • Ribbon
  • Copics – R32, E13, E15, E17, E00, E02, YG17, C3, C5, R29, R35, R37
  • At You Spica – Pitch Black
  • Martha Stewart Lattice Punch
  • ABS and Air Compressor

I colored the image with my Copic markers, used the airbrush to get a soft effect on the card base and used the Spica pen to color in the black seeds on the strawberries. I added two layers of lace with the Martha Stewart Lattice Punch, a layer of shimmery ribbon, some Prima Flowers and Skittles to finish it off.

Here is what the easel card looks like opened up.

If you’d like to join in on the challenge, make sure you link your project in THIS post in Mr. Linky so your name is in the drawing to win a “Flower Bed” stamp!

Thanks for stopping by today!
