SSCC DT – Anything BUT a card

HAPPY LABOR DAY!

I hope this finds you all thoroughly enjoying a 3-day weekend with your family and a day of no getting up early to make lunches, beat traffic en route to the office and all the other daily routines you face on any given work/school day!

I’m really trying to enjoy the weekend, but this whole catching up on housework business is getting in the way, so I’ve decided to take time to smell the stamp ink!  LOL

Our current challenge at Stamping Scrapping Challenge Central is anything BUT a card.  I knew right away what I was going to do…..a charm bracelet!  :o)

Here is the a shot of the entire bracelet.  I didn’t go all the way to the edges with my charms because I’m not sure I’ll like having something dangle all the way around my wrist.  The only jewelry I wear is my wedding ring, so if I can tolerate this many charms, I’ll add more.  LOL

IMAG1541

Items used for this project:

  • Images – Tilda w/Umbrella and Right Through My Heart
  • Shrinky Dink Film
  • Misc jewelry supplies
  • Copics -
    • Tilda – E13, E15, E17, Y11, Y13, Y15, B000, B00, B02, E00, E000, E0000, C3, G24, RV00, RV02, RV000
    • Heart – Y13, Y15, C3, B00, B02, RV00

I took the Shrinky Dink Film, stamped my image on the SMOOTH side with Jet Black Stazon ink, allowed it to dry for a minute or two, flipped the film over and colored my image with Copics on the sanded/rough side.  Once I was done coloring my images, I cut them out, punched a hole with my Crop-A-Dile using the largest hole (3/16”).  I then shrank my images using my heat tool.  No heat tool?  You can also put these into the oven following the directions on the Shrinky Dink package!

I also made a heart charm for a necklace with my daughter’s name on it and she loves it!  I showed it to her while she was cleaning her DISASTER of a room and told her she could have it when she was done.  Mean mom?  Yep!  But it got the job done!!!  LOL

I haven’t pulled out my jewelry kit in too long, so this was a welcome change!  I think I may need to make more of these little charms for cards.  ;o)

I hope this project has inspired you to join in on our “Anything But a Card” challenge.  If so, please go visit THIS POST to link your project.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Please check back soon.  I have some more projects coming up that I’d love to share with you!!
